About Somatic Movement
Thomas Hanna PhD studied neurology and researched the muscular ways in which all humans respond to stress reflexes and how these full body reflexes can become habituated into the central nervous system, causing muscular pain which contributes to many common painful conditions experienced regularly in our busy modern lives.
From these studies he developed a program of Somatic movement offering a safe, gentle and common sense approach to eliminating chronic muscles pain and improving movement long term. This method is scientifically based; sensory motor training that teaches you how most chronic muscle pain develops, and what to do to restore full nervous system control of both your muscles and your movements. You learn to reverse the root cause of most chronic muscle pain, so you prevent pain and movement limitation in the future.
